Circles

Definition of circle:

Circle is a closed 2 dimensional figure which is equidistant from its centre.

Types of circles

Concentric circles : two or more circles drawn from a same centre point.

Ex-centric circle : Circles that have different centres are called Eccentric Circles

Parts of circle

1) Centre : midpoint of a circle

2) Radius : segment connecting from midpoint of circle to any point on the circle

3) Diameter: line segment connecting from one end point to another end on the boundary of circle which passes through centre

3) Chord : line segment used in point lies on the boundary of circle
Diameter is largest  chord of a circle

4) Sector : A region bounded by two radii and an arc
•Major sector  : A sector with a central angle greater than 180° is called a major sector
•Minor sector : A sector with a central angle less than 180° is called a minor sector

5) Segment : A region bounded by chord and and aan arc lying between the two points of the chord

•Major segment : The segment having a larger area is known as the major segment
•Minor segment : The segment having a smaller area is known as the minor segment.

6) Arc : the connected curve of a circle between two points.
•Major Arc : An arc whose measure is grater than 180 degrees is called a major arc.
•Minor Arc : An arc whose measure is less than 180 degrees is called a minor arc.

7) Tangent : line segment touch the circle with one point

8) Secant : A line segment which the circle with the support of 2 point.
